NAIBA Publisher Advocate Program |
Booksellers
The New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association is proud to unveil a new program that will help booksellers in the seasonal order process. Click here to download a pdf with all the details. Publisher Advocate will give booksellers who don't see reps or speak with phone sales, access to marked-up Edelweiss catalogs. A rep's knowledge of the new season's list can be passed along to booksellers who currently don't see a rep or are assigned a telephone rep. The response from publishers has been tremendous. When told about this new program, every publishing house jumped at the chance to do this for the booksellers in the NAIBA region. The reps in our region are wonderful, hardworking people who want to see all our bookstores succeed. Steps:
Caveat: Edelweiss Instructions & Links *NOTE: Orders generated through the Publishers Advocate program must go through your normal ordering channels. Do not use the "Create Order" button in Edelweiss. Catalogs available: Are there any catalogs you would like to receive that aren't on this list? We'll be happy to contact the publisher on your behalf. Email your request to NAIBA. (Fine Print: This program is open to any bookstore in the NAIBA region, but you have to be a NAIBA member. Well worth the small price of admission to have a group dedicated to bringing you programs like this one.) Publishers Too many NAIBA stores don't have the luxury of field reps or access to telemarketing. Receiving Edelweiss marked-up catalogs would improve their operations, and NAIBA wants to help them succeed. We need reps to volunteer to send their mark-up catalogs to underserved bookstores throughout our region. We'd also like reps (field, inhouse, marketing people too) with an eye for collections to do the same. We would provide you with the emails of the stores, and sending the catalogs is the only obligation you have. Orders would be handled in whatever manner is in place for each individual stores. We'd like to get our volunteers in place for the next selling season. Could you, or others in your company, step up to the plate and help us by being a Publisher Advocate for the NAIBA region? Email Eileen Dengler to volunteer. Include in the email any collections you manage for your current customer base and would be willing to share to a broader audience. Please pass this email along to your colleagues who might be interested. Once I have the list of participating publishers and the collections, I will have the booksellers sign -up. I will then share the list of interested booksellers' emails with you. If you'd like to see the video on how to create Collections in Edelweiss, it's here: |
